How to Measure Yourself for Hazaragi Clothing
A clear, step-by-step measuring guide for dresses, tunics and waistcoats — so your handmade piece fits the first time.
Buying traditional Hazaragi clothing online is easiest when your measurements are accurate. Most of our ready sizes follow a relaxed modest cut, but handmade embroidery sits best when bust, waist, hips and length match your body — not a guess from another brand’s chart.
What you need
Use a soft measuring tape, wear a light top (or the underlayer you usually wear with modest dress), stand straight, and breathe normally. Measure in centimetres if you can; if you use inches, note that clearly when you contact us. Ask a friend to help with shoulder and back length for the most reliable numbers.
The six measurements that matter
1. Bust — around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level and snug but not tight. 2. Waist — at your natural waistline (usually the narrowest point above the hips). 3. Hips — around the fullest part of your hips and seat. 4. Shoulder width — from the tip of one shoulder across to the other, following the natural seam line. 5. Sleeve length — from the shoulder point down the outside of the arm to the wrist (or where you want the cuff to fall). 6. Garment length — from the top of the shoulder (near the neck) straight down to your preferred hem. For tunic and dress styles this is the measurement customers most often underestimate.
Tips for a better fit
If you are between two sizes, size up — especially if you like layering a sweater or shalwar underneath. Embroidery panels on the chest (Graph Dozi / Sika Dozi) do not stretch like jersey, so a slightly roomier bust measurement is kinder to both comfort and the stitching. For waistcoats, prioritize shoulder and bust; length can often be adjusted visually with how you style the piece.
When to choose custom sizing
Choose custom when your bust and hips fall in different size columns, when you need a specific dress length for height, or when you want sleeves shorter or longer than our standard cut. Send the six measurements above in one message after checkout (or before, via Contact), and we will confirm the finished garment targets before production continues.
Accurate measuring takes five minutes and prevents most return headaches. Save your numbers — you can reuse them for future Hazaragi dresses, tunics and caps that share the same silhouette family.
